can we have it general?

Hello everyone, I apologize for that short break I had. i had things going on; it was imperative i took it off. So, down to today's business. This day's piece is a question and a bugging one at that. This is it...IS IT POSSIBLE A SONG HAVE A GENERAL ACCEPTANCE, LEAVING NOONE BEHIND?. I'll consider this piece a little rhetoric. This question I had asked myself severally and seem to find no concrete answer so far especially from the few people I had consulted, the reason I had to publish this. Considering the fact that there are many factors involved in Individual music/song selection. ranging from factors such as musical background of the individual; talking about the type of music the Individual was/had been exposed to especially at a very tender age. Genre is  another factor; some like it cool and ''R n B' like, some like it ''rocky''(like Rocky Balboa). state of Individuals mind at a point in time is another thing; to some people when they ar

SONG OF THE WEEK-HALLELUYAH(jonhnny Drille ft. Simi)

You know why I like life? When you think you’ve seen it all? You see another side suddenly unravels. This same process applies to music when some seconds ago you felt…o boy…this is my jam…another humble artiste drops another hit. Music is much more than melody, rhyme, I can say its..hmnn.(what’s the word again?) ENCOMPASSING. Lest I forget, I’m sorry for the delay in this posting, many technical issues came up and personal ones Don’t let me bore you with my lil obsession about how it should be seen( I wish I could see my school work this way, just saying) So, my song for this week is one of our own. You want to guess? I bet you would have guessed wrongly, if not for my topic (gotya). A friend some weeks back asked me, what does ‘’Halleluyah’’ have to do with a love song. At that title, seeing simi and johnny drille on the cover the ‘’religious’’ people may wanna feel somehow.., but to the music lovers that question will be what will spur me(us)..it would make us inquisitive, make us w

SONG OF THE WEEK- Big Sean ft. Kanye West, John Legend ''ONE MAN CAN CHANGE THE WORLD''

Image
Do you think you can really change the world?.. well late Mrs Mildred V. Leonard thought so. In case you don't know..or you are new here my name is  Zeek  and I'll be taking you round every week on something catchy on music/songs or something related or interesting. I am a music lover and also a critic. Someone once sent me a song I had to delete. sometimes I don't even care who sings, once its bad, its bad. well don't get me wrong i'm not saying i'm a ''standard'' to be followed but that's me. I might not know so much on the basis of music theories as a study, but I sure know how it should sound. enough of feeling myself.....before you say i'm showing myself..(grins). so this afternoon I heard this song on the radio while trying to study. it caught my attention. I quickly picked one or two lyrics put them together and i asked my friend, my friend, GOOGLE. On a lighter note now, google should satrt paying me o. im a stakeholder.

zeeks devotional saturday 9/7/16

Zeek's devotional Saturdays 9/7/16 Text: Lk 16:1-12  Topic: Be quick to apologize.             As it is laid in my heart this morning. Let me paraphrase. Verse 1 -2 "Jesus said unto his disciples, and told them of the story of a rich man who has an unfaithful servant, and called him for questioning. He's likely to get sacked for mismanagement of goods" Am going to emphasize on verse 3. "The steward said within himself, what shall I do? For my lord taketh away from me the stewardship. I cannot dig ;TO BEG I AM ASHAMED". Did you get the capitalized word?.ASHAMED TO BEG". That is the mistake most people do. You know you are wrong and still trying to prove a point. To this steward in this passage, hr would have saved himself a big mess by saying "MASTER, I KNOW I HAVE MISMANAGED YOUR GOODS, I KNOW ITS WRONG, PLEASE FORGIVE ME AND IT WONT HAPPEN AGAIN". That's all. I'm sure the master would reconsider. You think you can't apo

zeeks devotional 7/7/16

Zeek's devotional Thursday 7/7/16 Text: judges 11:1-12 Topic: The process of time. Now verse 1 of this chapter sounds nice" jephtah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour"That's great ain't it?The second paragraph" and he was the son of an harlot". Little disappointed?. Before into in to-to.  Now there was no correlation between paragraph 1&2. Harlot's son and mighty man of valour? Verse 2 talks about how the legitimate sons of Gilead(The father) threw him out of the house(Jephthah) because they forbade him to inherite anything from their fathers house. Verse 3 After he fled, he dwelt in the land of Tob, and the bible said" There gathered vain men to Jephthah and they went out with him". Vain men according to my bible translation means "worthless men". Imagine!!. They threw him out of the house, found himself in the midst of worthless people. It doesn't sound so nice It looks as if a bleak future is on the horiz

Zeek's devotional Wednesday 06/7/16

Zeek's devotional 6/7/16 Text: 2king5:1-9 Topic: Add value Naaman's story, the great warrior. Verse 1 explains the type of man he was. "Now Naaman the captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master (king) and honourable, because by him the lord had given deliverance unto Syria, he was also a mighty man in valour" but he has a "BUT". He was a leper. Now if you read down the chapter, you would see that the predicament Captain Naaman was, had been a concern to the King, in fact a concern to the whole country Syria. Now imagine a man's problem being a problem of the nation. Imagine just a single persons predicament making a whole country worried. C'mon that sums it all up. He was a man of great value to that country. Everyone wanted to profer solution to his long term predicament. It was even a maid from a neighboring country that told them of prophet Elisha in Samaria.(verse 2&3). I could sense that desperation. We

zeek devotional 5/7/16

Zeek's devotional 5/7/16 Text: Matthew 20:1-16 Topic: God loves all equally Do you think God loves all the same way?. If you had read this text from 1-16, then you will get an answer. Lemme paraphrase a little... Verse 1:"The kingdom of Gos is like a householder, who went out in the early in the morning to hire labourers for his vineyard". Now to verse 2:"he agreed to pay them after they are done". Verse 3" after he left them,(by then they already started work in the vineyard) he strolled to the market place and saw some people idle, not doing anything about the 3rd hour( in the afternoon) and told them to go to his vineyard and told them he's gonna reward them with the same reward for the first labourers, who already started work early in the morning. Verse 5,6,7 he did likewise in the the 6th and 9th hour(evening and night). Verse 9 was strange"and when all that were hired came, everyone received the same reward."A PENNY". Why
